Totte Arvidsson
Who am I?
I was born in 1986 and grew up in Oviken, Jämtland, in a village called Sölvbacken.
Painting and creating is a way for me to reflect, explore and discover new things in art and in myself.
I work mainly in watercolor, but also use other media such as acrylic and other materials. On this page I invite you to discover some of the artworks.
Experiences
What inspires?
The changes of the mountain world and nature are often the starting point, but inspiration comes just as much from experiences, emotions and the thoughts that life awakens.
For me, painting is a form of freedom, a way to stop and give space to creativity and reflection.
Inspiration comes from various trips and hikes that I have made over the years and the people I have met. Among other things, hikes in the forests and mountains in Jämtland, Svalbard and Greenland have inspired my creation.
What is important
Freeform
For me, painting and creating is an expression of the longing for freedom that I find in nature and the mountains, in the open spaces, the silence and the feeling of being part of something bigger.
Presence
Why did I start painting?
After several years of a fast pace and high demands during the pandemic, I began to long for a different tempo – with more room for creativity and presence.
That was when I discovered watercolor painting. I received valuable advice on paints, brushes, and basic techniques from one of Sweden's foremost watercolorists. That advice marked the beginning of my artistic journey, and a new world opened up.
Since then, I have continued to develop by drawing inspiration from other artists, both online and from artists in my own circle.
